Quartus 17.1's bundled Intel TBB malloc proxy crashes quartus_map with
'munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer' on modern host kernels (e.g. gull). The lib
is a DT_NEEDED dependency so it can't be deleted; replace it with an empty stub
.so - the link resolves but the allocator override no longer loads, so Quartus
uses glibc malloc and synthesises correctly headless. quartus_map now runs.
